Three Ways to Maximize Your Outdoor Spaces

While Minnesota may be most known for its cold months, there are plenty of great ways to utilize your homes outdoor spaces and get the maximum amount of fresh air possible before and after the cold days. From activities to entertaining, there’s something for everyone young and old to make the most of Minnesota’s unique weather schedule.

Patios and Decks

If you’re an entertainer or love dining al fresco, a patio or a deck is a great way to get outside with friends and family to enjoy bites and beverages. Many homes feature outdoor dining spaces on a wood deck extending from the home or can be installed easy to make enjoying snacks or drinks a breeze. Another option is a stone patio down in your backyard to accomplish similar results. Defining the space in your yard is key to create a great atmosphere for you and your guests.

Putting Greens or Firepits

With the highest number of golfers per capita in the US, when we see the snow melts, Minnesotans start thinking golf season. Installing a turf putting green is a great way to start getting outside and get that golf game back into shape. When fall rolls around, keep warm by a firepit that everyone in your family can enjoy. Nothing beats the smell of the fire and the kids will love roasting marshmallows and enjoying the fall colors.

Pools or Sport Courts

On the more expensive side, pools and sport courts are great entertainment for you kids or a great way for you to get some extra exercise. These take up significantly more space than the above, but can really increase your home value in the long term while giving you maximum enjoyment in the summer. Make sure you understand the costs, rules, and regulations about doing these renovations BEFORE you get started!
