Make Sure Your Home is Show Ready

When it comes time to sell your home, it’s important to make sure it’s ready for others to see it in the best possible condition. You know your home at it’s best, but over time it tends to fall out of it’s best shape, which is normal! Here are a few things to do before you open up your doors to potential buyers:

Curb Appeal

The first thing potential buyers see when they pull up to your house is the curb appeal. Make sure your lawn is cut regularly, your font walk and steps are swept or shoveled, and all of your gardens and landscaping is well maintained. Adding some seasonal decor to your steps or your front door is a great way to make your home feel more inviting and memorable.

Lights On

Everyone wants their home to be shown in the best light, so making sure all of your lights are on is a great start. Make it easy for potential buyers to see all of the best parts of your house, from pantry lights to lamps and even specialty bar or mantle lights that show off the unique features of your home. This allows removes the possible confusion for potential buyers trying to figure out which light switch goes to which room or which set of lights.

Declutter

Decluttering is a great way to begin your packing process as well as make your home look neat and tidy. Make sure your closets are clean and organized, your countertops are free from any unnecessary dishes, pots, pans, or appliances, and your drawers and cabinets are cleaned up. Not only does this make your home feel more put together, but it also will make your spaces look and feel bigger.
